Dance Birthday Parties: $175
Pro-Rating- You can join a class anytime during a season as long as the class is not full. We pro-rate the price online on a weekly basis at the end of the week. We do not prorate for students who were already are enrolled in a class and did not pay their bill on time or took a break (weeks off) and then come back. Prorating only applies to students signing up for the first time during the season. A dance season is September through June, the traditional school year. Pro-rating only applies to classes off the weekly class schedule. We do not prorate for summer camps, adult workshops, or any other product. It is most beneficial to begin class as early in the traditional school year as possible, we do not go back and reteach basics each session. We usually stop accepting students in late winter so our students who have been studying most of the school season can focus on their performance dances and solidify what they have learned.

Payment is due upon registration. You are not considered fully registered until payment in full is received. We will not hold unpaid spots. Payment plans outside of payment in full must be cleared with studio director.
HDA assumes students will continue into the next term during the traditional school year as long as you pay the bill on time (if you signed up for fall, we will hold your spot for winter, if you sign up for winter, we will hold your spot for spring. We will not hold a spot skipping a season). If you do not pay the bill on time, we will cancel your spot. If you will not be returning due to any reason you aren’t obligated to continue, but please inform your teacher or the director of this change asap so we can offer your space to another student. Otherwise, payments are due 2 weeks before the first class of a new payment period for current students returning to their class.
Missed classes: If you must miss a class off the weekly class schedule for any reason students are entitled to the make-up class policy. We do not offer makeup classes for summer camp or adult workshops.
Weather related closings: In the event of a weather related closing, classes will not reschedule for another time. However, students are welcome to make use of the make-up class policy.
Make-up class policy: Students may make-up missed lessons in any other age appropriate class during the 2025-26 season as long as the student is currently enrolled in a class at HDA and is up-to-date on payments. Once the 2025-26 season ends, or if student declines to enroll in the upcoming term should there be one left during the season, any make-up classes the student incurred will no longer be valid. Makeup lessons are not transferable.
Returned Checks/Insufficient Funds: $30 return check fee
Medical/Sports Injury: We will give students credit for future use at HDA for the classes missed during recovery time.
Virtual Substitution– Due to Covid-19 and government mandates, we reserve the right to move classes virtual during days or weeks that the government may require suspension of in-house business operations. In the case that this should occur, Hampden Dance Arts will provide class via ZOOM. We will not provide refunds for classes due to shut-down mandates.
Photography & Video directed into the dance studio is STRICTLY FORBIDDEN when a class is in progress unless permission is granted by the teacher. Because there is no consent agreement with other parents of students in children’s classes or unanimous consent to record or photograph in the adult lessons, we find photography and video to be a violations of student’s privacy. Teachers may record video or photography for class planning purposes, which will never be used online, and only for the use of the teacher or Hampden Dance Arts employees for teaching purposes. On a lesser scale, photo and video is distracting to students and the teacher. Disregard for the photography and video policy will result the student/family being suspended from Hampden Dance Arts without a refund.
Student Conduct for children’s and kid’s classes– Dance class has a history of etiquette attached to it. We will help teach this etiquette to students. Students should display an enthusiasm to learn dance and retain manners during the lesson. We do not allow water in the studio or during class, only during the official water break which will occur halfway through children’s lessons or if needed during the older kids classes. Do not send into the studio toys or stuffed animals from home or any other objects which are distracting to the class including large headpieces and costume jewelry. Disrespect of the teacher and/or other students in the way of but not limited to physical confrontation, aggressively throwing objects, “sassiness” such as eye rolling, pushing and hitting of others, or bullying of other students will not be tolerated. We reserve the right to suspend students without a refund due to behavior issues. Assessment of conduct and suspension is at the sole discretion of the studio director.
Waiting Room– Please try not to interact with the class from the waiting room. Because there is no door between the studio and the entry, we may close the curtain to reduce distractions for the kids. Still, students may try talking parents or asking for water from parents in the middle of instruction. Ask them to pay attention to the class. We will have a water break halfway through classes and as necessary. Waiting room guests are always welcome to the bathroom in the back right corner of the studio.
